A story of discipline

Let me begin this post with a story:

In my last year in university I was having big problems with one subject, it was known by all students in campus as the toughest subject of all, only a few enlightened could pass the exams and the textbooks seemed to be written in Chinese... It was horrible!!!

As the semester was ending and my grades weren’t improving, one good day in total despair I kneeled down and pray to the Lord. That was a very refreshing prayer, strength was coming from somewhere, I felt good. I realized it was because of the power of prayer that my mood changed and in order to be thankful for that I made a promise to God which I was going to honor the day I get my grades.

After a lot of sweat and blood spilled in those study nights, the semester came to its end and I was given my grades, as you may imagine, I passed the subject that made me kneel down and pray. That same moment I began to honor my promise to God to the foot of the letter.

A year after, I was trying to survive in my first job as a finance and accounting trainee for the largest shipping and logistics company of the world, it was a great job that helped me to get some financial independence. One day I received a phone call and the girl who called told me that I had won a full paid all inclusive ticket to go to the final match of the Germany World Cup. Can you have an idea how unbelievable was that for me at that moment?

I took a plane to Germany, stood in Berlin for 10 days in a nice hotel, without paying a penny, I visited all the places you have to visit in Berlin, ate all the food you have to eat when you are in Berlin and the most important of all, I was going to the World Cup´s Final, and yes that also without paying a penny.

When I was in line a few steps from the entrance door of the stadium I was thinking in how amazing was all of that and then God made me remember that one year ago I honored a promise I made to Him and because of that I was there in Berlin and not in my country taking an special test to pass that horrible subject that was giving me problems.

After this long story I just want you to notice that we have a supernatural, powerful God a God of pacts. To Him nothing is impossible.

Matthew 7 verse 7 says “Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.” But we have to do this with faith, with the real conviction that you are going to be given what you are asking. It doesn’t matter how impossible you think the things you are asking are, because, once again, for God nothing is impossible. Make a pact with Him, be disciplined and I assure you great things will happen in your life….guaranteed!!!!!

I had to share this with you and I exhort you to ask with faith and wait with expectancy.
